Squeaky floorboards? It could be time to opt for Caberfloor
Squeaky floorboards are enough to drive even the most even-tempered person crazy within a matter of weeks. However, anyone opting for Caberfloor as a flooring solution can prevent the squeak with No-Squeak flooring adhesive from Norbord.
Squeaky floorboards usually occur when two pieces of wood are rubbing together. This happens for a variety of reasons, but mostly because the floorboards themselves come loose from the joists over time. Traditional floorboards are nailed to joists and it is around these nails that the squeaking usually occurs.
No-Squeak is an adhesive specially formulated for use with Caberfloor wood panels. Using these two Norbord products together completely eliminates the risk of squeaky floorboards and produces lasting results.
Those opting for traditional solid wood flooring will have to take up the boards and re-attach them to the joists with nails to eliminate squeaks. Those using Caberfloor, which is easy to lay and much longer lasting, can simply attach them using No-Squeak adhesive for a completely silent flooring solution.

Church raises funds for wall and roof repairs
The parishioners of St Paul’s Church in Newbridge, Wales, are busy raising more funds to pay for the essential repairs to the church’s roof and walls.
After winning a grant worth £55,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and raising a further £27,000 from the European Union, the church is just a few thousand pounds short of its target. The repairs include work that needs to be done on the roof of the church, as well as repairs to the walls, which as reverend Ronald Jefford explained, are “protected by weather boards, chipboard and polythene sheets".
The use of a material such as Sterling OSB for wall sheathing or even roofing repairs will add strength and weatherproofing to an old building like St Paul’s.
Father Jefford said, "The church plays a significant part in the lives of the people of Newbridge. It is the focal point of the community." He added that it is a "very large, very beautiful” church and that it was originally supposed to be double its current size, but was never completed.
Father Jefford told Campaign News: "From a financial position, I'm really glad they were never finished as we would never have been able to support a church of that size."

Timber demand grows worldwide
The trade in timber has increased by 25 per cent over the past two years, according to new figures from Wood Resource Quarterly.
The latest report shows that traded volumes of lumber increased to 90 million cubic metres in 2010-2011. This followed a spell in 2008 and 2009 when timber trade volumes dropped thanks to the economic slowdown and particularly the fall in US house building activity.
The most notable increase in timber import volumes were seen in China, Spain, South Korea and Japan where timber products, such as wood panels, are regularly used in the construction of homes. Timber imports were also up in North Africa and the Middle East over the past two years.
Timber demand in the UK would no-doubt rise if more wood-based building materials were used in the construction of homes and other buildings. Wood panel products, such as Sterling OSB and Caberboard are a sustainable and easy-to-use options for all types of construction.
There is a growing interest in using timber building materials in the UK with high profile campaigns hoping to increase the use of wood panels and other timber products all over the country.
