Panasonic medical sale rebranding promises future opportunities

Panasonic has announced that it has rebranded its European medical and scientific device operation as Panasonic Biomedical Sales Europe BV (PHCBEU), in order enhance sales of medical equipment throughout the continent.

The division was previously known as SANYO E&E Europe BV, but the rebranding follows Panasonic’s full acquisition of SANYO in 2011 and the creation of Panasonic Healthcare Company Europe (PHCEU) in January 2012.

Deputy Managing Director of PHCBEU, Hans Brok, said that the newly-created brand will reflect Panasonic’s expanded and still-growing healthcare operation. It will continue to offer the broad range of biomedical products available previously, including ultra-low temperature freezers, incubators, medical refrigerators and cell processing systems.

“By integrating the businesses and facilitating shared expertise we are even better positioned to offer our existing and prospective customers a bigger and better product range,” Brok explained. “In addition, we are confident that we have a stronger foundation for future business growth in Europe, in the medical industry.”

Panasonic has stated that they will continue to offer product support to former customers of SANYO, whether they are within or outside their warranty periods. Brok added that these customers will now also benefit from a broader range of available technology.
