Cheshire-based dental products supplier, DBG, has made a strategic buyout of a medical equipment testing calibration company, in a move that is likely to support development and sales growth.
DBG, which has its headquarters in Winsford, has successfully acquired TAG Medical for an undisclosed amount, according to the Manchester Evening News.
David Menton, who is managing partner at DBG’s mid-market investor Synova Capital, and a director of DBG, said that the move aligned the work of two mutually-beneficial operations and bodes very well for the future.
He explained, “This transaction will add the GP, hospital and pharmacy markets to DBG's already-established presence in the dental market, where it accounts for more than 70 per cent of practices as customers.”
DBG has a staff count of 80 and supplies equipment to more than 7,500 dental practices across the country. TAG Medical, which is based in Nottingham, carries out inspection, testing and calibration of medical equipment, working with more than 2,000 GP surgeries, 130 hospitals and 510 pharmacies throughout the UK.
The deal was enabled with a five-year loan from The Co-operative Bank with advice from Alasdair Mackinnon, of north west law firm DWF.
